A future in culinary arts?????
Auntie Deb was here with Mommy this evening and Auntie Karen arrived with NEW TOYS (because they needed new toys, right????). The kids LOVED the kitchen appliances that she brought. There is a stand-up mixer, coffee maker (just like Daddy's!!!) and a blender. I'm wondering if any one of them might have a future in the culinary arts? Maybe a job with the Food Network? Hmmmmm...........

The Impact of American Idol....
The kids stayed up later than usual. Dinner was eaten even later than that. And we watched the DVR version of American Idol with about a 75 minute delay. And, despite the lack of a warning of a potential "spoiler alert" by a certain Uncle who shall remain nameless, we watched the final episode of American Idol tonight which leads to a late posting by me.
While I might have my own opinions about the winner, I TOTALLY enjoyed the guest musicians on the show tonight!!!! Chicago, The Bee Gees, Hall & Oates, Janet Jackson and the-one-and-only Celebrity Apprentice, Bret Michaels! It felt like "This Is Your Life, Kim" in music. It was lots of fun.
Enough about me because I know that NONE of you are here to read about me. : )
I have one girl who is still enjoying her time on the "pee-pee-potty" just before bathtime. We are still just reading books, but it is a step and I will take it!
This potty-training thing will definitely get interesting, I'm sure. Right now, it is lazy. We just discuss it. Mention the idea of the potty. Suggest it as an option. But there is absolutely NO PRESSURE to use the potty.
I'm too tired to think of anything else, so nightie-night.

Trippin' through Tuesday
We had a storm blow through here around dinnertime and the kids really enjoyed just watching the rain from their window. They stood there for about 15 minutes while I cleaned up the kitchen and just chatted and stared. I think they were in some sort of trance watching the falling rain and the birds rush to the feeder.
I learn so much when they are busy learning. They taught me that I should sit still and just watch the rain. So, I took a break with them for a few minutes, got a few pictures and then sat in the window to watch the rain fall. It was incredibly peaceful and they were so curious about the storm (don't worry...no lightning or we would NOT be in the window).
I hope that they continue to remind me to take time to just observe things from that amazed and innocent sort of perspective.

C-L-A-R-K !!!
My little Clark is learning to spell his name. Uncle Stevie has been working on it with him for weeks drawing the letters on the MagnaDoodle and he is now bringing it to me to write it out for him. I asked what he wanted me to write when he handed me the pen and the board and he said "C"- "L" - "A" - "R" - "K". I was beaming! Yea Uncle Stevie!
