You are my Sunshine
Auntie Karen and Uncle Tom took Clark out for dinner at Red Lobster. He dined on salad, cheddar biscuits and shrimp and apparently enjoyed all that he ate. It was nice that he could get out for a while because he was in quite a mood when he woke up from his nap. I think the "fresh air" did him some good because he was super-sweet when he got home (for about 3 minutes). : ) I do need to share a sweetness story that happened when I was putting Clark to bed:
Another part of our nighttime routine came from Nanny Barb. She used to sing "You are my __________ (insert name here)" to each of the kids (usually in the mornings) and now I sing it to them at night. It's my one time to make them feel almost like an only-child. They are triplets so it is often always about what the "group" needs and not what just one of them is looking for at the time. "You are my Clark..., You are my Emma...,You are my Kendall...My only ________.....You make me happy, when skies are grey....You'll never know dear, how much I love you....Please don't take my Clark, Emma or Kendall away".
Back to the cute part, he sang (on his own) "You are my Mommy. My only Mommy. You make me happy, when skies are grey. You'll never know dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my Mommy away." OK, some words were slightly distorted in his version, but he got the Mommy part right in each spot. Tears came to my eyes because it was so sweet to hear my son singing that to me. Whether he knew what he was saying or not, it was still one of the most precious moments of my life. Thank you Clarkie. You make me happy, when skies are grey.
