Sunny Day at the Zoo

Yes folks, it was a sunny day here today.  I wouldn't say it was particularly "warm" but nice enough to get out to the zoo for a little walking around enjoying the animals and the sunshine.

Who knew that the bench with the wooden parrot sculptures could be such a great photo op, but the kids really had fun there.  The sunshine was a little weird and I'm still not working too hard at understanding photo edits yet.

And the covered area with the buttons to push to get monkey, gorilla, chimpanzee sounds is still one of the biggest hits at the zoo.  The kids usually run back and forth pushing every button for a good 5-10 minutes.

We had the MOST AMAZING visit with Baby George (a 2 and 1/2 yr old chimpanzee at the Knoxville Zoo).  There were four chimps in the outside area when we walked up and Baby George ended up right at the window.  It seemed like he wanted to play with the girls because he ran back and forth along the glass and the girls did too.  Then he sat right next to the glass while he ate his fruit.  He stared at them a few times, put his hands and feet up to the glass (and they did the same with hands) and even kissed the glass when the girls kissed the window.
What a precious sight to see this cute little primate interacting with our little monkeys.  I just wanted to scoop him up and take him on a playdate with us!

Right after we stepped away from the window, we headed to the area where they are indoors but you can see them playing and check out the gorilla.....

He sat at the window looking at another family for a few seconds, but I couldn't get my camera set quickly enough to get a good shot.  It was really dark, so I had to add some light.  It's pretty grainy, but it was still another amazing moment to have one so close to us.

Lunch!!!

A little more playtime just before leaving....

Nightie-night.  Mommy is pooped out!  Please be sure to check out the other video links I just posted (each as their own post).  We LOVE the music and video clips (especially the girls and I).
